Mr William Dick worked with the Bishop Challoner Catholic Collegiate School, Tower Hamlets, on a number of projects while I was Chairman of Governors of the school. His work on a variety of complicated projects spanned more than ten years. During that time I found him to be excellent In all respects and invaluable in getting things done efficiently and effectively. All the projects came in according to specifications and cost.
The main project was the provision of a very large school, the first federated school in the country. The project had to be undertaken while three schools on the site continued to be operational. The project developed into a Learning Village. the eventual planned capital cost exceeded £40million. During this time, William dealt with difficult circumstances that arose from the discovery of an unknown burial ground, the bankruptcy of the main building contractor as a result of a contract abroad, of which the school and William had no part, and a High Court Case involving land ownership, again outside the control of the school and of William. In all these traumatic circumstances William’s advice and skills to overcome problems were Invaluable. When the main project was completed the school had over 1700 students and 300 staff on site.
At all times in organising and managing the projects over the ten plus years William was thoughtful, sensitive and professional. He keeps meticulous records and minutes of all meetings and acts in role at all times.
I was always impressed by William’s management skills in keeping architects, engineers of various professional skills, builders and contractors on board and delivering what was wanted on time. He is very conscious of security matters and of Health and Safety requirements. William is honest, efficient and reliable. I have no hesitation In recommending him as a Project Manager on small or large scale projects. Please feel free to contact me if necessary.
